Singapore now has 34,700 electric vehicle (EV) charging points, according to Land Transport Authority figures released on World EV Day. More than 4,000 were added in four months.

There were 82,100 EVs on the road in August 2026, up from 57,200 in 2025. EVs made up 63% of new car registrations between January and August, compared with 45% last year.

What comes next

The target is 60,000 charging points by 2030: 40,000 in public car parks and 20,000 on private premises. Every HDB town is due to have at least one fast-charging hub by the end of 2027, each with six to eight 50kW chargers.

Drivers weighing a switch should note that the EV early adoption incentive, with rebates capped at $7,500, ends on 1 January 2027.
