Satellites on Fire in talks on Indonesia projects to spot wildfires early as haze spreads
The Argentine climate tech firm says it is in conversations with Indonesian organisations about future projects to spot wildfires before they spread.

Satellites on Fire, a climate technology firm from Argentina, is looking at projects in Indonesia that would spot wildfires early, before they spread. Indonesia is currently fighting blazes that have pushed toxic haze across Southeast Asia.
"We're already in conversations with organisations in Indonesia about future projects," chief executive and co-founder Franco Rodríguez Viau told Eco-Business.
Hundreds of thousands of hectares have burned. Smoke has shut schools in Malaysia and worsened air quality in places as distant as the Philippines and Singapore. The fires have shown that authorities need earlier warnings so they can respond before blazes become harder to contain.
