Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof is set to give a keynote address at Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2026 on Oct 26, according to Bernama. He will head a Malaysian delegation to the event.
Meetings with Singapore and India
Fadillah holds the portfolio of Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation. He is due to meet his Singapore and India counterparts in separate bilateral talks aimed at deepening energy cooperation.
The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) issued a statement on Saturday. It said Malaysia's presence reflects its commitment to developing the energy industry and attracting interest, and to strengthening the confidence of international investors and financiers who back energy-related projects in the country.
The ministry also described the conference as a platform for the government to showcase how it is carrying out bilateral and multilateral initiatives with the two countries.
Talks with industry players
According to the ministry, Fadillah is also expected to meet major international energy industry players, including the International Energy Agency (IEA), Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Siemens Energy, Acwa Power, Electricite de France (EDF) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
These meetings are expected to help policymakers, industry players and stakeholders swap views and best practices, and to support the development of more comprehensive energy policies and programmes.
PETRA added that Fadillah's participation in the regional energy conference showcases Malaysia's continued commitment to driving the energy transition agenda, environmental sustainability and regional energy security.
